Argyle Elementary has a program to provide clothes to kids with critical clothing needs, they ask for three sets of clothes – shirts, pants, socks, underwear, hoodie, and pair of sneakers. Every situation is different. We have figured out how to do this for about $150 per child, and are blessed to be able to help out.
Below is an example of one of the families we were able to assist:
Ms. A moved here from Miami due to an eviction. She was unable to afford any of the hotels in the city and came up here to be with her sister in Lawrenceville. Unfortunately, the sister was not in a better position and is now homeless as well. Mom has two jobs working remotely for a Miami based company making $18.50 an hour and just got a second job in customer care with intel. Ms. A has been trying to keep the family afloat, but they moved here with absolutely nothing, so the children only have a couple pairs of clothes that mom is having to wash every other day. They desperately need underwear and socks.
